A few years ago I was working with South African companies that were moving fast to AWS — but they were getting crushed by compliance stress. They were either paying huge USD bills for tools that felt foreign, or spending weeks manually checking everything and still worrying about POPIA / GDPR and Compliance audits.


I knew there had to be a better way.


So in 2022, right here in Cape Town, I built Shieldus — a proper automated AWS compliance scanner that is powerful, practical, and priced for the South African market.
